Book your Alpaca Experience

Te Korito Alpacas is open for farm visits all year round between 10am and 5pm. As we only host families and small groups, we have chosen to offer an individual experience. Larger groups can be catered for by arrangement.
An introductory talk is followed by meeting the alpacas, hand feeding, and interacting with them. Depending on the time of year, you may see young crias (baby alpacas), alpacas in full fleece or smoothly sheared, or the alpacas sunning themselves or relaxing in the shade. Whichever it is, you will find them calming and a pleasure to be with.

The main attraction for many is taking an alpaca on a lead for a walk around our farm paddocks and perhaps along the riverbank. The walking paths are easy but you are recommended to wear closed shoes, not jandals. There will be plenty of time for photos!

Afterwards, visitors can examine raw and processed fleeces and be shown how these are converted into beautiful products. Te Korito Alpacas processes, hand spins, and knits only its own finest alpaca fleeces into a range of garments for sale. Examples can be seen on our Products page.

Please allow at least one and a half hours for your visit, which includes the walk.

Booking your visit is essential as we need time to do farm work and ensure that our alpacas are properly cared for.

Poor weather may mean that booked visits need to be postponed (rain or strong winds are no fun for alpacas or visitors!). We will contact you if the weather looks unsuitable to visit.

Payment can be made by bank transfer (details on request), PayPal, or cash. Unfortunately, we do not have EFTPOS or credit card facilities.
