Beside the scenic Whanganui River, just a few kilometers from Wanganui town, Te Korito Alpaca Farm is home to a herd of Huacaya alpacas in a stunning array of colors. With nearly 15 years of experience in breeding these gentle, intelligent animals, we are passionate about raising happy, healthy alpacas while sharing their charms with visitors and enthusiasts alike.

Alpaca Sales

Our on-going breeding program ensures that we will have a number of alpacas for sale each year. These animals are normally registered with the Alpaca Association of New Zealand but some unregistered pets may also be available.

Stud Services

Te Korito Alpacas currently has three resident stud males, Te Korito Indigo (medium fawn) and Sunsetestate Bastille (dark brown). These males brought fineness and density into our herd. These males were recently joined by McKenzie Fields Kokomo (Rose-grey/Roan), an impressive progeny of Empire Tapestry. Te Korito Alpacas sell a range of knitted and crocheted items in unique designs which make either fantastic gifts or something to spoil yourself! We also sell professionally carded slivers produced from our own fleeces for the spinners out there.

Alpaca Shearers

Alpacas should be sheared annually to keep them cool during the summer. Once done, their gorgeous fleeces are available to the owner.

Directions - Once in Wanganui, drive alongside the river on Somme Parade and when it becomes Papaiti Road (just past the cemetery), travel a further 7.4km alongside the river.
We are the first house on the right with a large white letterbox and sign for the farm. On Google Maps we are shown as 'Te Korito Alpacas'.
